FAQ
Tutoring in Michigan, answered
The questions Michigan families ask us most, from subjects and scheduling to pricing and getting started. Still wondering something? Just call or send a note.
Getting started
How do I get started with tutoring?
Book a free call with our learning center manager. We talk through your student’s goals, subjects, and schedule, then match them with a screened, trained tutor. The first hour is free.
Am I committing to anything by reaching out?
No. Reaching out starts a conversation, with no contracts at any point. You decide how many sessions your student needs after we have built a plan together.
How quickly can my student start?
Most families are matched with a tutor within a few days of their first call. If you have a deadline coming up, tell us and we will move faster.
Subjects & programs
What subjects and grades do you tutor?
We tutor from elementary school through college in math, science, English, reading, social studies, and world languages, plus ACT and SAT test prep, college prep, and study skills. Whatever your student is working through, we can help.
Do you offer ACT and SAT test prep?
Yes. Test prep starts with a free official practice test that sets a baseline, then we build a plan targeting the sections that will raise the score most, with checkpoint tests along the way.
What is high-dosage tutoring?
High-dosage tutoring is our intensive, frequent program for schools and districts, delivered inside partner buildings by trained W-2 tutors. Families looking for private tutoring should start with a free call instead.
Sessions & scheduling
Do you offer in-home, in-center, and online tutoring?
All three. We tutor in your home, at our centers in Dexter, Canton, and Northville, or online across Michigan. Many families mix formats week to week with the same tutor.
How often should my student meet with a tutor?
Many families start once or twice a week, then adjust as grades and confidence climb. During a tough unit or before finals, we can add sessions and ease off when your student is steady.
What if the tutor is not the right fit?
We match carefully, and if the fit is not right we adjust. Your student should feel comfortable and be making progress, and we keep working until they are.
Pricing
How much does tutoring cost?
It depends on the program and how often your student meets. On your free call we build a plan and give you clear pricing for it, so there are no surprises. Visit our pricing page for how it works.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. Your student’s first hour is free, so you can feel the fit before committing to anything.
